Fulbright grantees and alumni, international researchers and policymakers and others interested in science and development are invited to the 2008 Fulbright Research Conference in Boston, Massachusetts on February 14-17, 2008. (Thursday - Sunday).
The title for the conference is Energy & Innovation. The program will address new developments in energy-related fields, such as biotechnology & energy production, architecture & design, and transportation. We also explore innovative new ideas coming from Fulbright scholars and researchers in other fields.
- Each Session includes four exciting presentations, where speakers share their insights, passions, and ideas - rather than deliver typical speeches or remarks
- Speakers from divergent fields likely follow one another, providing a forum for leaps of innovation across sectors
- Q & A and discussion among speakers and audience occurs informally during breaks, meals, and the off-site tours
The program in Boston may include a high-level networking event. The FAST Summit would serve as a level platform where senior government officials, corporate leaders, and university deans can discuss concepts and good practices and build consensus on energy and innovation.
The conference is multi-disciplinary and will explore energy & innovation from many angles. For example, the poster session is accepting abstracts for presentations from all disciplines. FAST will also host workshops, programs and tours for scientists interested in topics such as such as nursing & medicine, applied research, and policy implementation. Click here to Submit Abstract for a Poster Session or Panel
As of October 25, FAST has received abstracts and expressions of interest from scientists and Fulbright scholars from/in Austria, Canada, Ecuador, El Salvador, Germany, Jordan, Macedonia, Morocco, Pakistan, Panama, Romania, South Africa, United Kingdom, and USA.

2008 Conference Theme: Energy & Innovation
The four-day program will explore the work of indivudal Fulbright scholars and groups of scholars. We also will discuss lessons learned and how governments, businesses and others have applied our innovative work.
The Fulbright Research Conferences are multi-disciplinary programs, with participants from social, natural and life sciences, engineering, technology, medicine, law and management. Attendees will have many different professional backgrounds - government, industry, academia, and civil society, and will come from some two dozen or countries.
The main themes will also be addressed during the tours and during the poster session, where you can present your research. Focused discussions will occur at workshops and at theme-oriented roundtable discussions. We also may have a short film festival, with documentaries made by Fulbright scholars.
Panels:
The 4-day conference will start on Thursday and run through the weekend. Panels will address topics such as ecology, sustainable economic development, education, and medical research. FAST is seeking respected, high-level individuals to speak on the panels.
