ACCOMMODATIONS:
Your registration fee does NOT include the cost of accommodations. You must make your own hotel reservations. A small number of free rooms are available at a university dormitory on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve a dorm room, please send an email to Fulbright2009@gmail.com.
Several recommended hotels, and a website listing many hotels in Skopje, raging in price from $45-$200/night. Hotels Combined is a hotel reservation service; FAST receives a small benefit from your use of their service. Please visit the website through our homepage (www.FulbrightAcademy.org) when you are researching or making hotel reservations anywhere in the world.
REGISTRATION RATE INFORMATION:
• Free Registrations: Because we give so many opportunities for people to speak or present at the conference, we do not offer complimentary registrations. All participants, including speakers and presenters, are expected to register for the conference.
• Regular rate: This rate is for "professionals" - people who work for the government, institutions of higher education, corporations, and foundations in high income countries Individuals from low- and middle-income countries who work for entities that pay international wages should also pay this rate.
• Early Bird / Reduced rate: For those who register before December 15, 2008. Also for current senior Fulbright scholars, teachers and postdocs are required to indicate their institution's name on the registration form. People with emeritus status are required to indicate their birth year/retirement year.
• Extra Reduced Rate: People from Macedonia and Southeast Europe and other low- and middle-income countries are eligible for the extra reduced rate if they work for a local employer (one that does not pay on an international wage scale). Also for current Fulbright student grantees.
• Banquet: A small number of tickets are available for the opening banquet.
• Membership Discount: The fifty dollar ($50) discount is available to employees of institutional members. Existing individual members register at the normal rate and receive a one-year extension on their membership.
• Spouse/family rate: If you are accompanied by a family member, he/she can participate in the programs and attend the meals and tours for a reduced fee.
• Sponsored registrations / Special cases: A small number of sponsored registrations will be available. If the regular registration rates are above you ability to pay, you may petition FAST for a discount. FAST is also willing to assist you on funding requests to employers or other entities.
• Included/Not included: Your registration includes the costs for several meals, coffee breaks, tours and other activities. Some tours may require an entry fee to the museum or facility.
• Advance Registration Deadline: The deadline for advance registrations is March 1. Rates will increase by $25 after that date.
NOTICES / POLICIES:
• Cancellations: Those who cancel their conference registration on or before January 25 will be eligible for a full refund. Those who cancel on or before March 6 will be eligible for a refund minus a US$75 administrative fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after that date. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to the Fulbright Academy. Hotels will have their own cancellation policy for your accommodations - contact your hotel for details.
• Accidents/Injury: Your participation in the FAST Conference may involve travel to off-site locations, and you may be exposed to a variety of hazards and risks, foreseen and unforeseen. By registering for the conference, you agree to waive, discharge claims and release from liability the Fulbright Academy, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, agents and leaders from any and all liability on account of, or in any way resulting from, injuries or damages. In registering for the conference, you understand and intend that this assumption of risk and release is binding upon your heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, and includes any minors accompanying you.
• Documentary: FAST will collect video footage, photographs and other material during the conference for use in a documentary and/or for other outreach efforts. Unless otherwise reserved by you, you give FAST permission to use this material by registering for this conference.
